On Friday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Radoslaw Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

 

The Parties discussed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral relations, especially, their inter-parliamentary constituent, and certain aspects of Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.

 

The Parties stated the importance of enhancement of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in the economic sector. Thus, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems necessary to adopt "mutually beneficial resolutions to give extra impetus to the economic development" of Ukraine and Poland, and secure it at the legislative level.

 

V.Lytvyn and R.Sikorski called for activization of inter-parliamentary relations. In particular, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine proposed to hold the next sitting of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania.  

 

V.Lytvyn deems necessary to adopt "a document of regular work", which can be the Government Action Plan jointly with the Law on principles of domestic and foreign policy that should be adopted with account taken of the "citizens´ disposition".
